SM - Stereo Microscopy
A stereo microscope is a special form of optical microscope. The viewer has two separate beam paths with differing angles of convergence so that he gets a 'spatial image effect', the so-called 'stereo effect'. This stereo effect is limited to low magnifications of less than 100:1.
Stereo microscopy is used in various areas involving analysis, such as:
- Damage analyses
- Corrosion analyses
- Illustration of small particles or foreign bodies, and scratches and cracks
- Sample preparation for small objects
- and much more
