LM - Light Microscopy

Typical optical microscopy allows a high degree of magnification of objects through the use of optical systems. Through variations in the lenses, types of illumination and additional device such as polarisation filters or microhardness testers it is possible to use optical microscopes for many different tasks.

Common areas of application are:

  • Microstructure analyses, e.g. in accordance with DIN ISO 4499 -1/-2, ISO 9042DIN 50600ASTM E 45a
  • Coat thickness analyses
  • Crack identification and measurement
  • Determination of the decarburization depth in accordance with DIN EN ISO 3887
  • determination of the degree of purity
  • and much more
